Inspired by travel, gardens, old-world flea markets, the simple things and the finer things, Jan approaches every project with careful stewardship and meticulous attention to detail. She is an advocate for her clients and believes loving your home is one of life’s true necessities. As a wife and mother of four, she intuitively combines inviting comfort and timeless beauty with practical, everyday functionality. Jan earned her Bachelor of Science from Auburn University in 1996 and resides today with her family in Birmingham, Alabama.
When purchasing for your home, where should one invest and where should one save?
Invest in timeless antiques, nice lighting and good upholstery. Skimp on side tables and non essential pieces.
When designing a room, where’s the best place to start?
The rug of course!
What’s your advice when purchasing an investment rug?
Try to stay away from trends and focus on the colors and patterns that attract you to the piece - remember it is art.
What design rule do you follow?
I will always pull paint colors from fabrics and rugs - never the other way around.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Travel! I appreciate history and different architectural influences.
